Tributes and condolences have poured in from multiple British public figures, following the death of TV presenter Michael Mosley whose body was found on the Greek island of Symi on Sunday morning (Jun 9). He had been missing for days after he disappeared during a walk.

Mosley was a renowned health figure who had appeared on British programmes including the BBC series Trust Me, I’m A Doctor. He also popularised the 5:2 diet, which endorses intermittent fasting. Here are some of the tributes to Mosley from colleagues, friends and entertainers.

JAMIE OLIVER

The celebrity chef, who has long advocated healthy eating, praised Mosley for his contributions to public health in an Instagram post. Oliver wrote: “What a wonderfully sweet, kind and gentle man he was. He did such a lot of good for public health with his TV shows and research. He was a curious investigator, producer and presenter and often changed the conversation around many public health issues for the better. He will be sadly missed.”
