Watch live: Ukraine’s Zelenskyy holds press conference at Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore

SINGAPORE: Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelenskyy is speaking to the media following an address at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore on Sunday (Jun 2).

Earlier he told delegates at the annual security forum that that diplomacy – in the form of a peace summit later this month – was the best way to end a “cruel war” that has killed thousands in his country since 2022.

A total of 106 countries and organisations had signed on for the peace summit in Switzerland, he said, but he expressed disappointment that some world leaders had not yet offered their support. Russia was trying to disrupt the peace efforts, he said.

Zelenskyy arrived in Singapore on Saturday and has held talks with several leaders, including US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, Timor-Leste President Jose Ramos-Horta and Indonesia’s president-elect, Prabowo Subianto.
