A grand float parade was held on the first day of the Year of the Dragon in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, attracting tens of thousands of spectators to flock to Tsim Sha Tsui – one of the most popular shopping districts in the metropolis.
A total of 9 local floats and 13 local performance groups as well as 16 performance groups from the Chinese mainland, Japan, South Korea and Australia performed at the event. The floats featured the theme of the Chinese dragon, symbolizing a “dragon leaping in Hong Kong.” Together with other Spring Festival elements, the colorful floats showcased the joy and vitality of the traditional festival, presenting a cultural and visual feast to locals and tourists alike. The groups of performers sang and danced during the parade, creating a carnival atmosphere.
