Samsung, SK Hynix won’t need approvals to supply US chip gear to China – Yonhap

SEOUL : South Korea’s presidential office said on Monday that the United States has decided Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix can supply chip equipment to their China factories without separate approval, Yonhap news agency reported.

The U.S. had been expected to extend a waiver granted to the South Korean chipmakers on a requirement for licences to bring U.S. chip equipment into China.
