NUST Law Moot Court Team Wins Henry Dunant Moot Court Competition 2023
Islamabad: NUST Law Moot Court Team has bagged the top prize at the national rounds of the 15th Henry Dunant Moot Court Competition on international humanitarian law (IHL) organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) held in September 2023 in Pakistan.
NUST Law Moot Court Team led by Mr Fazeel Hyder Chohan and comprising of three students namely: Ms Harram Chaudhry, Mr Sheikh Saim Shahzad and Ms Zainab Rafiq Khan, under the coaching of Mr Fazeel Hyder Chohan (Lecturer) has won the Pakistan’s oldest and most prestigious moot court competition on international Humanitarian law (Law of War), organized by international Committee of Red Cross (the ICRC).
With this victory NUST Law Department became the youngest ever to win this championship. We are also very proud to announce that team NUST will now represent Pakistan at the next phase of the competition that is Hong Kong for the Asia Pacific round.
Henry Dunant competition is organized for the recognition of the founder of the ICRC and the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, and aims at promoting interest in IHL and developing advocacy skills among law students, said Mr Fazeel Hyder Chohan, who was leading the NUST Law Moot Court Team.
Several teams from universities and colleges from Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Karachi, Hyderabad and Jamshoro competed for the national round won by the NUST team.
