It is said that the pyramids served as tombs for the ancient Egyptian pharaohs. More than 100 Egyptian pyramids have been discovered, with their construction dating back to around 2600 BC. Among these, the most famous ones include the Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, located on the Giza Plateau, southwest of Cairo. Adjacent to the Pyramid of Khafre stands the Great Sphinx of Giza.
