Chinese Premier Li Qiang expressed the hope that the Italian side will provide a fair, just and non-discriminatory business environment for Chinese enterprises to invest and do business in the European country.
In a meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on the sidelines of the Group of 20 (G20) summit Saturday in New Delhi, Li also called on both sides to continue to expand bilateral trade, saying that China will continue to expand market access to create more opportunities for Italian quality products to enter the Chinese market.
The Chinese side is ready to strengthen communication and coordination with Italy within the G20 framework to jointly safeguard the security and stability of the global industrial and supply chains, Li told Meloni.
The Chinese premier pointed out that a healthy and stable China-Italy relationship is in the common interest of the two countries and is necessary for the two sides’ better development.
As next year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Italy, Li said China is willing to take this opportunity to further strengthen dialogue and cooperation and promote development and prosperity together.
He also said China is willing to deepen institutional cooperation, make good use of cooperation mechanisms such as joint meetings of governmental committees and enhance the level of cooperation between the two sides.
As two ancient civilizations, Italy and China have enjoyed a long history of friendly exchanges, Meloni stressed, adding that the Italian side is willing to strengthen exchanges and dialogues with China under the bilateral framework to further deepen cooperation between the two countries.
