As wildfires increase, experts say Indigenous people can help with cultural burning.
Cultural burning is a fire practice conducted by Indigenous people for thousands of years to manage land, plants and animals. These burns are typically implemented at low intensity, small-scale with low risks. Natural fire breaks can be built after cultural fires are set.
