KARACHI: United States has never asked Pakistan to leave the regime of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, (former envoy to China) Masood Khan said in an interview to a private TV channel

“US had never objected to Pakistan-China relations”, said Khan who also served as Pakistan’s ambassador in Beijing.

The CPEC regime had been launched at a time when other countries had been reluctant to join such an arrangement of bilateral ties with China, he added.

Ambassador Masoor Khan is a highly accomplished diplomat with 40 years of experience in both multilateral and bilateral diplomacy,

He also served as President of Azad. Jammu and Kashmir.

As Islamabad’s envoy to Beijing, Khan always advocated for Pakistan and China’s common goal become a prosperous region in South Asia.
